[HONG KONG SAR – 12/6/2024] – BioLogiQ, Inc., a leader in sustainable biopolymer technologies, was awarded gold at the Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions Hong Kong (AEII) for advancements in non-woven materials. The regional subset of renowned Geneva Inventions recognized BioLogiQ’s groundbreaking work to meet the growing demand for sustainable solutions, particularly in East Asia, where the urgency to address plastic pollution is driving innovation.
A global team effort, BioLogiQ received gold for two of their newest BioBlend resins- XN 25200 and XN 25300. With 25% plant-based content, the XN grades are designed to maintain the high performance of conventional non-woven materials while significantly improving their environmental profile. Recent trials have demonstrated the potential of XN grades across various non-woven applications, including lightweight spunbond fabrics for hygiene products; durable materials for isolation gowns, reusable bags, and tablecloths; and melt-blown and bi-component fibers.
A notable display of BioLogiQ’s AEII exhibit exemplified their materials in the form of a reusable shopping bag made with XN 25300. In addition to its enhanced softness, the machine-washable fabric bag holds 100 pounds without failure.
The company’s sustainable advancements are a timely interest in the global region. East Asia is at the forefront of addressing plastic pollution, with businesses and governments seeking alternatives that align with regional sustainability goals. BioLogiQ’s award-winning materials are uniquely positioned to support these efforts, delivering measurable benefits such as reduced carbon emissions and less plastic.
BioLogiQ’s gold award at AEII marks a significant milestone and reinforces the company’s commitment to environmental leadership. Capable of blending with traditional materials and other common plant-based biopolymers, BioBlends offer companies a practical and scalable solution to meet corporate environmental goals without disruption to standard operations.
“This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication of our global team,” said Ken Kramer, BioLogiQ’s President and CTO. “We’re honored our contributions can advance global sustainability initiatives, and we look forward to expanding our efforts to provide environmental solutions to the markets that need them most.”
Further optimization is already underway at BioLogiQ. With specific focuses on compostability and market expansion for recycled content, the next wave of innovation is coming- one that promises to reshape expectations and reveal what’s truly possible in sustainable materials.
